All excavators are not the same and the tasks that they are intended to perform are not always similar and might require different attachments and requirements. Some of the most common excavators equipment include Articulated Dump Truck, which is used to transport sand, gravel or what has been dug up away from the site, they are able to transport heavy loads over rough terrain and also on public roads. They need heavy tires that can handle the terrain that is present where they perform the work and be able to work regardless of weather conditions. They also have to be able to drive on ordinary public roads, so they need to be able to handle higher speeds. This needs to be taken into account into when you consider the wear profile of the tire.
Then you have Road Graders or Motor Grader, which it is often also referred as, which is used to flatten surfaces and processing materials. They belong to the heavy machinery arsenal and for them to grade accurately they depend heavily on the traction of the tires. Good tires give you the ability to move on any surfaces on the job site and still being able to move on public roads with speeds up to 50km/h and they can drive without special permits for width or weight which make them very mobile. This does require good road grader tires to ensure that you can live up to the required mobility of the equipment through any weather or terrain, combined with minimum downtime.
You also have the Backhoe loader, which is basically a tractor with a fitted shovel bucket in the front and a backhoe on the back, this is a versatile equipment, but they also require good backhoe loadertires that can handle multiple surfaces and have good stability and control to perform the wide range of tasks that it can undertake. They can be used to brake asphalt and for paving roads.
The technical tire manual is the best to get a good overview of the different type of excavator tires and the use of each. What loads you can carry and what tire pressure you need to have. It is always good to have this close by to ensure that each job has the correct tires within the specifications of use, so that you can avoid any tire related problems.
