After having moved my with family to Alaska, I put safe Nokian Hakkapeliitta 8 winter tires on our family car even though the law here doesn’t require dedicated winter tires. I found out that it is not safe to drive on the icy and snowy roads without properly mounted winter tires. The Alaskan winter is quite treacherous and lasts from August to June. Even though the snow starts melting in March, it re-freezes at night causing a layer of ice on the roads. The spring has several months of very fluctuating temperatures with some days of 40 degrees Fahrenheit and other days as low as negative 20 degrees Fahrenheit. though the Alaska summers are short, they have some days in the summer with 100
